Dr. Jesse Ostby is a general dentist that has been providing comprehensive dental care to Alaskans since 2011. He is originally from Idaho, but he has planted his roots here in Alaska and intends on remaining an Alaskan for life! Jesse studied at Montana State University and the University of Iowa for his undergraduate classes, and then remained at the University of Iowa for his four years of dental school. Dr. Ostby met his wife Heidi while in dental school, and immediately following graduation they drove the Alcan up to Anchorage for Heidi’s pediatric dental residency. After a few months of enjoying all the beauty and excitement that this great state has to offer, they decided to make this place their home! His wife Heidi now owns her own pediatric dental office called Just Kids, and they look forward to raising their two kids Samantha and Griffin and their two Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs in such an adventurous and wonderful place. Jesse is an outdoor enthusiast and loves to stay active year round with his family by hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, fat tire biking, skiing, snow machining, and fishing.
For the first several years, Dr. Ostby worked as an associate dentist in private practice. After taking over for Dr. Schlansker and Dr. Tauschek, he is excited about creating a dental home that is truly compatible with his treatment philosophies and attitude toward serving the community. Jesse strives to provide the most conservative yet comprehensive care to each patient, and strongly believes in the importance of educating people about their oral health and overall wellbeing. Dr. Ostby remains up to date on the latest research and materials that dentistry has to offer while always keeping the standard of care in mind. He understands that newer and faster is not always better, and he only recommends treatment to patients if he would recommend it to his own family.
I have been a dental hygienist since 1991, and have been a member of this practice since 2006. I enjoy working in a family practice environment where I can get to know my patients. I strive to provide thorough preventative dental care in a professional yet comfortable, friendly manner. I also had the opportunity of Co-Chairing as sterilization lead for both of the AK Mission of Mercy events held in Anchorage.
My husband and I moved to Palmer from Washington state in 2004. When not at work we enjoy spending time with our Border Collie Brodie, working and relaxing around our home, backyard BBQs, playing Co-Ed Softball, and getting out with friends for the occasional hiking, camping, fishing ATV, snowmachining and whatever Alaskan adventure comes their way!
Raised in Homer, I graduated from dental hygiene school here at UAA in 1996. I have had the amazing opportunity of working my entire career in the very office where I was raised and had been visitin as a patient since the age of four! You could say I had some great dental influence that directed me into a fantastic career. I absolutely love all that Alaska has to offer, and still spend most every weekend in Homer at our cabin in Caribou Hills. On the off weekends, we are fishing, rafting and then there is the usual fall hunting season that keeps us enjoying life.
I love practicing dental hygiene. It has been rewarding in so many ways. I have had the opprotunity of Co-Chairing as sterilization lead for both AK Mission of Mercy events held here in Anchorage. I enjoy getting to know the patients and look forward to giving them the best treatment for their individual needs.
I was born in Anchorage although primarily raised in Wasilla. My family and I enjoy what Alaska has to offer with the abundance of various outdoor activities.
In second grade as a child, we had a day where dental staff came to educate us on oral health. It was such a fascinating experience as a child that it inspired me to pursue a career in dentistry when I got older, and I have been a dental assistant now since 2003! I am continuing to educate myself while planning to become a dentist. It is wonderful to be working at a family oriented dental office that treats patients with individual care and offers the utmost precision of oral health needs.
Being raised here in Alaska, and I have been in the dental field since 1986! I earned a dental assisting certificate from UAA, I am currently the Patient Care Coordinator/Office Manager/Biller.
My favorite part of my job is connecting with our patients and getting to know them and their families better. I enjoy helping patients understand their dental insurance policies and assist them in any way that I can. I love being part of a team that provides optimal dental care all while helping our patients feel at ease in a very caring environment.
My husband and I are proud parents of a 20 year old son and a 19 year old daughter. In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, watching movies, and shopping!
